SPMP was established in Oman in 2014 as a joint venture between the Government of Oman through Oman Investment Fund (OIF), now Oman Investment Authority , Tri-Star Resources PLC from the UK and DNR Industries Ltd, part of Dutco Group in Dubai.
SPMP is of national significance as it follows the government’s vision and strategy of economic diversification and increasing the contribution of non-oil sectors. The plant has been developed with the latest technologies and is fully compliant with strict global environmental regulations including EU guidelines, US Environmental Protection Agency regulations and Oman’s Environment Authority rules.
Sohar, Oman
SPMP is strategically located within the Sohar Industrial Free Zone, about 100km north of Muscat, the capital of Oman. The strategic location brings key advantages for the business, including access to world trade routes through the Sohar Port facility. The existing modern infrastructure combined with the availability of human capital, and strong industrial partners add more strength to our operations.
Oman is located on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by the UAE to the northwest and Saudi Arabia to the west. The coast is formed by the Arabian Sea on the southeast and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. The country’s strategic position near established global trade routes and a history of political neutrality is opening up opportunities for Oman in transport, trade, tourism and manufacturing.
